Rangeland Assessment
- To identify areas that need to be assessed.
- To assess the rangelands and delineation of them throughout the country to make recommendations for range management improvement.
- To collect rangeland resource data in order to determine rangeland species diversity, biomass production, carrying, grazing and browsing capacities and also to classify vegetation types found in the rangelands.
- To participate in monitoring of permanent transects, which are used for monitoring the rangelands condition.
- To collect and analyse cattle-post user data.
- To identify and assess the burnt areas for records.
Rangeland Plans Development
- To develop of grazing management plans.
- To develop cattle-post adjudication plans
- To map the burnt areas for records.
- To develop recommendation on methods that can be undertaken for rehabilitation of burnt areas depending on the outcome of the assessment.
- To participate in the implementation of the recommendations from the assessment of the burnt areas.
- To determine historical use of rangeland resources data
